Nazis both liked and not liked free speech. Sometimes at the same time. They advocated for free speech before being in power, because that allowed them to spread their message.

After becoming the ones making the rules, they started censoring, except where they weren't ruling. Then they still advocated free speech. Because that allows one to normalize the absurd, as Bannon taught Trump to do.
