God bless him. Herman's Hermits brought an enjoyable goofiness to the British Invasion. He was almost more of a music hall performer than a rock 'n roller, and that was part of the appeal. (In fact, "I'm Henry the VIII, I Am" was an actual music hall song.)

As you made a Herman's Hermits reference, you might like to know that Peter Noone and his current Hermits tour constantly. We've seen them 5 times in our great local venue; he is an incredible showman. He's fun, funny and he still sings the hell out of the songs. I took this in Nov. '24.
