If any artists/anyone has their own domain for their websites, it's pretty easy to set that as your bsky handle! I don't think this works for some levels of WordPress accounts though, it didn't work for me until I had a Business one.

Thank you for spreading the word to a larger audience. I remember this being a modus on Twitter and other sites, and I can't believe this is still happening here.

A good friend of mine was impersonated by one such scammer even before the most recent big move to BlueSky.

alternatively people could always change their chat settings so that only the people they follow could message them instead of scammers like these!

(click the 💬 icon > look at the right corner, you should find something like the 🎚 icon > click on them and you can change the chat settings there)
