Deprioritization of the humanities started on the secondary school level before it hit universities. All manners of music, home ec, woodshop, etc disappeared. Either due to city corruption or overemphasis on sports like football or basketball.

1/4 Growing up in the 70’s, in 3rd grade (age 9) every child was *Required* to choose an instrument to begin learning how to play music. I played the flute until I graduated. Some of my fondest memories were made playing in the band!

Art classes were mandatory through 8th grade. I was never any…
