So last year they just celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Marathon starting in Hopkinton, now I get it. Sorry, non runner but still in awe of those that do run marathons. 🏃♀️🏃🏼♀️
The 100th anniversary of the Boston Marathon (that starts in Hopkinton) was decades ago, in 1996.
2024 was the 128th running of the Boston Marathon, and this year is the 129th; although the more locally significant anniversary in 2025 is the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's ride. 🏇🏽
Not sure if this was the absolute furthest, but Nick Hollon was tagged as the Human Sacrifice during his first attempt and finished a Fun Run, back in 2011. Came back a few more times and finished the race proper in 2013.

Offhand, what's the latest a human sacrifice has quit? I feel like it can't have been any later than fifth or sixth quitter.

It's worth it, I promise. THAT is what we are talking about.
