I may have phrased that poorly — what I meant was that party leaders are, in many cases, trying to push a centrist or rightward pivot, thinking it will benefit the party, while actual Democratic voters are feeling very much the opposite. That mismatch troubles me, but I’m with the voters.
Your so right. In fact what is going on in our nation is neither business as usual nor a regular political debate. It’s an attempt to change the country into something else. While we’re bickering among ourselves, the US is slipping into a Theocracy? Fascism? Dictatorship? Call it what you want.
We are about to fight for the things we thought were already ours. That’s what I see. Roe falling/ SCOTUS leanings are indication of what’s next. We need to come together over the big issues and fight like hell to retain basic rights. If we are fragmented over particulars I’m afraid we will lose.
