I am turning my neighborhood library into a banned children's, young adult and adult books library. I will include this book because it is important to educate people to live themselves and others and to be inclusive.
That is a beautiful cover...in all ways. No matter what they take from us, they can't take away our pride, dignity, or morality. Don't let them take it and don't give it away by fearing them. It breaks my heart if your extraordinary accomplishment has been tampered - even slightly - by this fear.
As a fellow queer doing art in public, I respect the hell out of you for doing this despite how scary it is. We need these books now more than ever. Knowing other artists are still pushing through gives me the courage I need to keep going.

We need books like this. The messaging around lgbtqia+ folks was pretty gnarly for me growing up (luckily my dad was a stand-up guy, so he counteracted some of it). I want my kid to be better than I was. This book is you helping me teach my son. Rad move.

Little kid pride is so cute and adorable. Sadly I think this June may harken back to a different pride. I will wade into stonewall pride with a grin if it means protecting little kid pride. This cissy don’t play.

Congratulations. Well done. We grew up next to "the bachelors." As adults we realized these two men were, in fact, a couple. When we "told" our mother, she said, "I know." Why didn't you tell us? "It was no concern of ours. They love each other just they way we do."
My (deeply conservative in rural America) parents were the same about our trans forest ranger who handed out the burn barrel permits every season. I remember realizing it, asking about it, and my mom being like, "Her past doesn't matter to us, just her present does." How things changed.
