my printer, a brother hl-l6200dw, which I've been using to print my zines on since March 2020 is now telling me that it's time to replace the laser and or the fuser, pieces that, collectively, cost about as much as it would to buy a new printer. I've finally done it. I've defeated my printer.

For what it’s worth though, about that, the thing I’ve been using it for is probably more intensive than its main intended use.
It’s designed primarily for printing business documents.
Maybe it's time for me to become a real psycho and buy a full photocopier unit with saddle stitch binding finisher.
It cost $216.
£7.79 inc. delivery on eBay.
The printer itself cost $216, less than the cost of replacing those parts.
Sadly, long lived as they are, a Brother printer's time will still come.☹️😭
