Sure some farmers are wealthy but many whilst asset rich struggle on low incomes.
It’s obviously complicated, but from the point of view of a livestock farmer, selling small parcels of land year on year to supplement income the result is lower and lower income necessitating the sale of more land.
Farming conglomerates (US style) are just round the corner.
I know my Dad worked 6 1/2 days a week (approximately 70 hours) and took a week off to go on a family holiday to Blackpool and got happier as the week went on 😀
