He's not been in South Africa since he left at 18. He has Canadian and US citizenship. SA remove your right if u do not apply to maintain, before taking citizenship elsewhere.

Absolutely. A lot of Tories are highly attuned to matters of sovereignty and the tradition of British democracy and not exactly enamoured of the United States. A South African American interfering in our country is really not going to go down well with them.

I don't believe there is anything inherently wrong with conservatism. It is just a natural counter to liberalism.
That being said, real conservatism died with Reagan and has been replaced with christofascism(magatism). 🤬🤬

conservative folks ( small c) will not like the UK government or ministers being bullied by foreigners, even if they didn't vote for that government. I would not be surprised if the result is that Musk has given Labour a small boost in the polls

He is right though. Musk behaves the way he does because he perceives European governments as weak and will capitulate to him. We need safeguards in place that hold social media platforms accountable for the content their algorithms publish and promote.

Decency still exists in UK politics, but the Conservatives have not been setting a good example lately, looking to Republicans and the success of Trump for talking points and behavior tips. With support from a debased media landscape, one needs moral strength even to be publicly decent.
