There is an area with 5 or 6 small food vendors in the midst of the city. The food there was incredible. Then, fresh Oysters at Clausens in Glasgow... fresh seafood in Newport. And with towns with names like Yachats! I can't wait to return.
I just love Oregon. We travel from BC every year to visit. We spend time from Astoria all the way down to Coos Bay. The entire coastline is so beautiful.
My first time to Schooner was during a beautiful January day when I drove the 3 Capes Loop and that evening took pictures of an amazing sunset at Pacific City and had dinner at the Pelican.
You reminded me of our dinner there and I always laugh because my daughter ordered an entire large pizza as her entree. We thought she was ordering a slice, then a whole pizza arrived. Papitos face when he saw the check 😅
The Oregon coast is beautiful but the Pacific waters are way too cold for me. I never swam in it. But I enjoyed going down there to watch storms come in. We’d rent a room with a view and brought a lot of booze. Fun times.
Hey Katsch, thanks a lot for sharing this picture! You took me away from the feed, and I ended up spending more inspiring time on maps, looking at those lovely places near Oceanside in Oregon (I didn’t know it existed before seeing your picture).👍😍
Beautiful picture. Many good memories up and down the coastline of Washington, Oregon, and California. We used to horse back in the sand. Thanks for sharing.
I want to plan a Washington and Oregon coast trip this summer. My husband had never seen the ocean and I wanted his first time to be there. Which specific places would you recommend visiting?
I can't imagine a better coastline to be at to see the ocean for the first time. Cape Lookout and Oceanside are stunning, must-sees. Stop at the Tillamook cheese factory for ice cream. Newport has a really fun historic Bayfront if you want shopping and sea lions. Have fun!!
Last year I took my daughter up the 101 along the washington coast to the Olympic National Park. We want to go back this summer because there was so much great hiking and rugged beaches to explore.

The contrast and horizontal separation of the blue sky, red cliff, blue sea, and red sand, is a delight.
