People snarking about the #sophiescarf. It‘s a really accessible way for people to get into knitting and make their first project. I’m delighted every time I see one, honestly. 🧶

I've been knitting for over 20 years and I made TWO last year. I think it's a perfect beginner project (short, builds technique but not overwhelming, very wearable), but I also think people should just knit what they want to knit! Life is short, no need to snark!
👆This! And people love them! I’m a pretty experienced knitter and late to the #sophiescarf. I made a bunch out of nice yarn and gave them out freely at Xmas.
Same! They’re so great for single skeins of soft, squishy yarn and such a great mindless, quick knit. I’ve given them away right off my neck if someone I like comments or asks about them while I’m wearing one. 💛
I really loved the Sophie scarf! I made a red one for my friend when she had open heart surgery and was put on voice rest, and she really appreciated it. It’s a great gift and a fun knit. I might just make another one 😆
I didn’t get the hype for small scarves until I moved to a place where the winter isn’t terribly cold. A lot of my big shawls are too much, but a little something around the neck is just perfect. Also, let people knit what they want! Who cares?
I’m so tired of snark. I have knit for more decades than I care to reveal and the Sophie scarf was a delight to knit and a smooshy cozy delight to wear. Have we not enough negativity in our lives? If only they could put their energy into better things.
...I didn't know this scarf existed but it looks like a lovely beginner knit (increases! decreases! icord edging!) or a mindless knit for folks who enjoy garter stitch.
I am not in that crew (ADHD + garter = Forever WIP) but I'd never ever snark on it!
I have ADHD and I found it so satisfying because it grows quickly and I just love the texture. I also had a lace wight yarn with very tiny sparkly discs and I enjoyed seeing them emerge in the knit. It’s great to work on when one is feeling burnt out.
