Last week, my sister and I traveled separately from the Midwest to Arizona. While in AZ we each received a fake toll text. (It was her first, I’d received them previously). That made me wonder if they somehow could track that our phones had traveled out of state or just coincidence?
My husband and I have each gotten one of these. Several news services prominently featured articles about this scam in recent posts, that were NYC-oriented, as well. Thanks for posting your snip.
I've gotten at least two of those in recent weeks. To all of which I replied 'fuck off, scammer'. I know for a fact I've not been near a toll road in at least 15 years.
I knew it was a scam. My grandson had once run through a toll in Houston and I got a letter in the mail about it. And now I'm my only driver, and I don't go out of town, so I say a silent F off to the text.
