I need to find family-friendly Pride stuff to do where "family friendly" means "somewhere to sit down and lots of water fountains," not "approved by the Council of Weirdos Who Think Kids Should Never See Nudity or Smooching."

there must be some better buzzword to use for event organizers. Accessible, rather than friendly? Family-accessible? Idk, but I see what you mean and how that'd be super frustrating.
the obvious solution is to have "family friendly" mean "accessible to families with children" and be specific about stuff like "no nudity" or whatever.
I feel you on this so hard. No, having one one-stall public restroom a few blocks away does not count!
I've started judging events based on which parks they're near, because I know all the parks and their playgrounds and whether they have bathrooms and water fountains.
We decided to watch the pride parade with the kid from a hotel room and/or the hotel lobby of the hotel where we had the room. It was wonderful, and I recommend the approach highly.
I feel like the conservative weirdos have already mangled family friendly too much to be much use for anything else. Like Pepe. Coming up with a new term to mean what we want it to mean makes sense.
Also accessible is a great and more accurate for what you're talking about, I think!
My issue is that I want "family friendly" to mean that it has the amenities I need as a parent of a tiny human. IDGAF about nudity; tell me whether there's an arts-and-crafts table.
That's the important stuff. Stroller parking, good accessible bathrooms, places to sit and snack.
Smol children are totally pro (their own) nudity. My 4yo still loves streaking through the house yelling NAKED BUTT (a tradition passed down to them by older sib), that doesn't concern them.

Tried successfully in both NYC and Amsterdam.

Accessible - designed specifically with families in mind.
We need to make all the seating uncomfortable.
