It’s patchy. When I did some work in the NHS in 2003, it was described as a federated anarchy.

It's shambolic. When Sam was alive, and only back in 2016, he still routinely had to carry a print-out of his results from one department in the hospital to another because their IT was so bad.

Dad has to do this if admitted to A&E. Because they can't see what Cardiology at Castle Hill in Hull have written.

There was an almighty fuck-up back in the noughties - Connecting for Health. It set the NHS back for decades. I witnessed some of the political games played in 2006 and knew then that it was a bloody bad joke.

My fave bit (/sarc) about NHS IT, the way it'll demand you allow it to install updates, user isn't allowed to override for reasons. It'll try and install said update at 3.30pm. and don't get me started on attend anywhere.

On ordering a repeat prescription 3 weeks ago, it was refused because GP pharmacist did not have the health check data. After back and forth with me on a special messaging app, we chased it up with CAMHS, who then sent out the report from the health check.

The GP surgery, however, has not done anything since to action the prescription, so when we went to the pharmacy, we were told nothing had been requested, and they cannot dispense. Obviously, they cannot access my discussions with the GP pharmacist - if they could, it'd all work.

I now have to chase up the GP next week - they don't open on weekends - to get them to do their bit. I cannot contact the GP pharmacist directly as their contact is hidden in a 'reply only' app.

Even when ordered, the meds then won't arrive as there is a global shortage and the NHS is pretty much at the bottom of the list to be supplied. Meanwhile, I am left to manage the fallout, and know that next time I will have to go through all this again just to get some vital tablets.

We are running out of pills, and he needs the meds to access school and manage his behaviour. I'm just so tired of it all - somebody make it join up and work.

A friend had some atrocious experiences with miscarriage. It took me 3 months to see a physiotherapist to the point that I barely needed one anymore. But there are things you simply cannot do elsewhere.
You have all my sympathy!
