I was skeptical, but it's actually very good. Keeping the story confined to 5 years of his life was smart (ie, no boring movie bio tropes; at the end he's still a cypher). The supporting cast is strong (except Elle Fanning as a doormat) & the singing is on point. Chalamet is excellent. Surprising.
