I definitely recommend staying away from that hellsite for your own mental wellbeing. I can’t speak for everyone (as everyone’s experience online is different) but my mental health has been so much better since I left there.

Most are not celebrating. The loud ones may be, but you have done so much to support independent authors with the one caveat that they don't spread hate. That is a pretty low bar if you ask me.

It really helped me sell, both for me and for other authors. I honestly feel really bad not promoting for authors over there right now. Like I’m letting everyone down. But the whole thing just kind of broke my heart and hurt my spirit a bit :/

I get around 100 book sales a year so this was my fear leaving Twitter (which I did in October 2023). But 2023 ended up being my best year ever.

Then 2024 ended up beating 2023 for sales and page reads.

Also, I've seen more people recommend your books on here than I ever did on Twitter

I feel that, I struggled with this 'letting people down syndrome' in the beginning too. Until Twitter became Nazi-FunX. People are free to come over here, they make their choices. I make mine.

When they celebrate your absence: let them enjoy it for a good long while. They don't deserve your support
