Same! It was early in the hype cycle right before posit::conf last year (where I was giving a similar talk) and I didn’t switch to talking about it because I didn’t want to just be chasing the shiny new things. But wow! Huge testament both to Astral’s design prowess and their reputation

Thanks for putting this together! Even as a someone who has been a python programmer professionally, I still hop over to R for data analysis. I'm definitely going to try using this stack for some side projects (+ Claude for some help).

Thank you for this post! I wish it had been around 5 years ago when I switched to Python

My ggplot nostalgia has been improved by altair - same philosophy of Grammar of Graphics, even if different implementation. Only negative is it doesn't work well >5000 data points.

uv is pretty awesome
