"Even the story of his near-murder, his tragi-farcical trials, and his ordeal in the penal colony is told with humor—and humanity." Navalny's refusal to knuckle under is permanent, now that he is dead, and is still a threat to Putin's regime.

Russia will continue to be a shitty country with or without democracy or with or without Putin or absolute global peace. Let's make it small forever, let's mutilate its geography or erase it from the map. Its people are creepy, horrible, weird, & unimpressive but have global terrorists spies network
Navalny’s story might be exactly what Shakespeare meant by “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing” but that doesn’t make it less worth experiencing. See also: Faulkner. Enjoyed this memoir, understand Navalny’s humanity better.
I so want to read this. It's been in my Amazon cart for days now. I'm so afraid I'll cry my way thru it. He didn't not deserve any of what happened to him.
I still can’t believe Putin killed the guy. I was distraught. It’s what donnie wants to do. Arrest and end the lives of those who oppose him. Unfathomable.
Nalvany remained an ethno-nationalist until the end. Could he have been better than Putin? Maybe for Russians, but probably not for any other ethnic group.
Kamil Kazani explained how his old videos are all encoded with racist tropes from the Soviet era. When you know a bit about how racism worked in the USSR and how it works now, with Chechens being the blackest and Russians being the whitest, his videos were laced with it.
While he tried to walk a bunch of that back later, like comparing Georgians to cockroaches that needed to be exterminated, he was a big supporter of the Crimea ennexation.
Kazani also wrote about how Nalvany fed the West's wishcast that there was a single person who could save Russia. However Russia's problems are that all the power is in Moscow while all the wealth is in Novosibirsk. The whole thing needs broken up, but this is what Bush1 feared in the 90s.
Oh stop he was pro west neoliberal scum. Putin cares about Russia. We may not like his culture or how governance but u have to be a badass to keep the thieving US OUT!
I just finished this book. It is a must read. He made the ultimate sacrifice in his fight for the Russia people. Putin tried to break him, and when he couldn’t he killed him. His wife is carrying on his fight. They made a remarkable team.
You are dumb fucks if you rly think he was any different to putin. And all his wife now doing is spending grant money to buy more expensive dresses while keep bullshitting you
He really was a fascist. Westerners are so desperate to find a “good russian” they sanewashed the man. His objection wasn’t russian fascist imperialism, it was that it was being carried out inefficiently due to corruption.
Putin won’t be replaced until he is dead or incapacitated. He will be replaced with someone who looks like him. Same with Iran, China, North Korea. Russia has very slippery floors around their windows, which are often left open.
I would love to read this book. This man is a hero, he died for his country, that’s someone to look up to and his wife is a beautiful advocate for her country and her husband’s legacy. The only place I WON’T buy it and that’s Amazon, Bezos has enuf money & now he’s making fun of the American people
A tragedy for the global community that this fearless Russian was murdered by Putin. I hope I live to see Putin’s regime overthrown by the Russian people.
Navalny died trying to make a "color revolution" and a regime change to dismember the Russian Federation... Why should he be considered a hero? #TRAITORofRUSSIA @cathyyoung63.bsky.social https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYdv39fRPfo
"Color Revolution" is a euphemism for US and EU-funded COUPS D'ETAT carried out in the countries of the former Soviet Union. Such coups failed in BELARUS and RUSSIA, but were successful in UKRAINE... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsTE_uk1NRA
Well, the interviewee in the video above is not Russian, nor is he a pro-Russian politician... See below what a UKRAINIAN thought about the color "revolution" in her country: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5BiqpYdFMI
May he live forever in the hearts of his Russian followers and his voice still ring for democracy over tyranny and dictatorship. What a great fighter he was . I hope his wife lives to see putin regime demolished forever.
Does the book mention that at his core he was a white supremacist and the same russian imperialist as putin and majority russians? That he cheered on the invasion of Georgia and occupation of Crimea, called for the expulsion of minorities, frequently used racial slurs, etc.?
It ‘never came out’ in the west, cause they were always looking for the next yeltsin or gorbachev or whatever. everyone in the ex-russian colonies saw him for what he was, i.e. ‘putin, but more efficient without corruption’
I understand the need to not die a victim, hence the reason of going back, only to get arrested. I also see he loved his Country & his people. The audacity of Putin to kill someone’s so well known & in the spotlight, shows he is firmly in control. RIP.
Loved this book. Extremely enlightening about a massive invisible truth in our time. Putin is a cold blooded murderer who stole a country from its people. His day of reckoning is coming.
Currently reading this. So far, marvelous. Tells so many truths, including the evils of the communist USSR and of the fascist Putin state. Tyranny is tyranny and good men (and women) pay the price. Too bad America has yet to learn that.
True hero of the Russian Republics slain for being good man in an age of evil. Resist the Putinisation of US, declaring our belief in morality & constitutional America. We, who love (respect) our neighbours, stronger in unity than those who love/ respect no one & nothing that is not of themselves.
Ironically it’s his defiance and murder that’s made him an international figure. If Putin had ignored him, many people outside Russia would never have heard of him. But dictators like Putin can’t help themselves in making martyrs.
In 1994, Pyongyang media reported that Kim Jong-Il shot an amazing 11 holes-in-one to achieve an unprecedented 38-under-par game on a regulation 18-hole golf course – on his first try at golf.
His 17 bodyguards verified the record-breaking feat.
Amazing.
The only thing that was difficult to adjust to in the audiobook was that it was narrated by someone with a British accent. I don't really know why I expected otherwise... 🤷♀️
He was such an incredible guy. I actually didn’t know he had been killed when I read the book. I had hope he would get released someday and then BOOM. Reality.
And we’re stuck with a cult leader without one whit of humanity. He’s Scrooge personified only with orange makeup. How embarrassing to be an American right now. Shameful.
It kills me that they were able to kill him. I think more so than the OTurd being elected does. He is temporary and will be a stain, merely. Navalny was a brave human
When those "assassination" set ups failed to produce (which was by design) and people kept wishing they had succeeded, I kept saying, "NO!" The last thing we need is to create Trump as martyr. Putin should have been all-in to keep Navalny alive. He is now the icon for "what might have been."
Loved the book... spoiler alert, he dies halfway through... but his prison memoirs are inspiring... a real martyr for the cause. Buy the book so Mme. Natalnya will be supported.

Amazing.
AMERICA = Whatever Trump says is TRUE
He has unfortunately passed, but this way Putin can’t kill him again
Navalny was the epitome of a true leader.
I pray his death will continue to inspire his people to keep on fighting!
RIP BEAUTIFUL ANGEL 💔
