A pastor: "Some people say it’s all talk. Well we don’t know that. It’s the fear and anxiety that really preys on us. We worry about what’s going to happen to our families, to our children if there is a factory raid, and the kids are in school."

we have to be ready to provide aid for the people who are deported, because of exchange rates we can materially help them a great deal. I just don't want us to do what we are doing to just within our borders. and while family separation can be hard it isn't the end. help them visit, stay in contact
One might note that the pearl clutching has already begun as a way to enable "first they came for the..." psychology.
The best day to prepare is yesterday, with today a close second: KNOW what they're planning and STOP them with sophisticated disruption tactics, which are VERY well documented.
I would not be surprised if the Chicago raid story is a bit of misdirection by the Trump admin, and while everyone is looking there, ICE will be in California detaining farm workers, Nebraska detaining meatpackers and some chicken factory in the SE.
Anybody who thinks "it's all talk" needs to go look at what happend to thousands of families at the border, when kids were imprisoned and parents deported. Concrete-floor cages, no food or water, no healthcare. Kids died.
With Trump it may be all talk because that’s all he knows how to do. He has evil minions like Miller, Musk, and the rest who will carry out whatever diabolical ideas pass his lips.
Just wait until there are no more cleaning ladies, gardeners, child care workers, factory workers, farm workers, construction workers and all the workers in the hospitality industry. Good luck with that. Ask the UK about what happened after Brexit. FAFO.
I don't think it is all talk. At least not initially. He will try it for the fear to properly set in and to say, "I kept my promise." He and his admin won't care who pays the price. I am sorry for them all.

The Nazis didn't turn their concentration camps into full-fledged death camps until after they invaded the Soviet Union in 1941. They figured mass deportation wasn't feasible in wartime.

The explanation, "Well, we don't think he's really going to do that" isn't going to work out to well when he actually follows through.
Good luck to those who fell for the spell or didn't show up to vote against it.
And FOOLS VOTED FOR THE MONSTER.
What do these fools expect are gonna happen when they vote for the people who’ve been telling them this is what they’re gonna do???
The states may thwart him. Honorable men and women in the military might impede him. European nuclear deterrence might.
But he means to do what he’s said he will.
FYI: the 2nd Holocaust is underway.
In 1922, the NYT wrote about Hitler and his antisemitism. They didn't take the rhetoric seriously.

In 1940, the Nazis considered deporting all 12M European Jews to Madagascar to answer their "Jewish question".

Trump started his 2016 campaign by calling Mexican immigrants rapists and murderers.
He openly plans to deport all 11M undocumented immigrants from the US.
Trump is threatening to invade Canada, Mexico, Panama, and Greenland.
History
is
repeating
itself.
How many of us are likely to end up in Trumpist camps? If Martin Niemoller is to be believed, it's more than just brown immigrants. I'm probably one.
Do we *really* have the luxury of sitting and hoping that this all blows over? Can we wait til 2026?
Short answer: no.
There IS good news, though.
We don't have to wait for an (unlikely) election in 2026. We have perfectly good feet and perfectly good streets to march en masse now.
We've seen the Arab Spring. We've seen what South Koreans did last year.
Unfortunately, “naive or cruel” describes about 99% percent of MAGA.
