Even if you *agree* with Trump that we should greatly prioritize our own problems, you should support foreign aid. For a fraction of our budget, we can reduce the sorts of problems abroad that can eventually make it to our borders.

"Let me emphasize: #ElonMusk has not been confirmed by Congress. His “department” was never actually enacted. No one other than Trump has given him any authority.
Democrats and any Republicans with a spine need to step in and stop this madness.
Most of us understand this but the lies Elon is spreading all over X has now convinced the MAGAS that USAID is corrupt, Putin is good, Ukraine is evil etc. Until we are able to hold Government officials to account for spreading misinformation our country will continue to be ripped apart.
It is not only that, which is csrtainly important. Spreading good will and strengthening ties with current and future relationships IS beneficial to US, and can prevent other problems for US as well. Horse blinders suck.
I've said this for years and had arguments with some of my conservative friends over it. People think of foreign aid as some kind of hippy do-gooderism. There's a bit of that, but for the most part it's self interest. Soft power, disease management... It's repairing the roof when it's not raining.

They know that J6 MAGA were not capable (even though those folks prepared for this) so they assume we’re not either
We all need to nonviolent protesting in the millions, boycott and divest, they think they have already won but they don’t know who we are at all
money spent on food is paid to American farmers
money spent on medication is paid to US medical companies
an article explaining how "foreign aid" cuts are impacting American farmers will be far more effective reaching the MAGA base
