"It will forever be a bitter irony that a figure like Barack Obama, who swept to power publicly claiming a desire to rid the world of nuclear weapons, did breathtakingly little when Russia first barreled into Ukraine in 2014."

The economy was in free fall when he took office. No one has parsed out to my satisfaction how this impacted the response to the russian federation. We assume, like you dumbasses have been screaming since the US gave ‘trillions’ of dollars of tax money to Ukraine, that it wasn’t an option then.
Ummmm... because they didn't want war with Russia?? People have to realize that international relations is not like interpersonal relations. It's a lot more like math.
So in 2014, Ukraine had a democratically elected leader who was overthrown by a European leaning parliamentary coup, which Obama celebrated instead of fighting for democracy, and somehow Putin is the bad guy here? Honest question, how does democratic ambivalence win?
Sure it is very likely that the US had a hand in it, which is likely why Putin did what he felt he had to do. I'm not saying I agree with him, fuck that guy, but nothing else makes sense.
I tend to cock-up theory of history. Ukraine '24 was in turmoil. Dozens of different parties. Yanukovych was elected but unpopular & corrupt. He first veered to the EU then changed his mind & went for Russia. Oil pipelines.
So true. The Ukraine War would be so difference right now if we had done something then. Initial US conflict avoidance eventually causes more conflict both at home and abroad. If we the people had insisted more on domestic protections after Trump 1.0, we wouldn’t be where we are now here at home.
Another whataboutism. Come on - get to the fact that your president is a traitor. You have to just listen with your ears and believe what is self-evident. If you can't see for yourself what's going on - you are without awareness and deserve to be fucked by that orange mong!!!
There is a stark difference between an U.S. president who made a misstep, and one who is wholly owned by the Russians, who is an asset doing the bidding of Vladimir Putin.
Because the ESTABLISHMENT GOP and DEMS refuse to allow him to do anything!
Just cut this fucking bullshit! It is not helpful to this moment it's just more WHAT ABOUT ISM!
So fuck off!
People love to blame the GOP for Obama's failure to lead, but let's be frank: he got one thing done, and that was a modest improvement in health care. He failed Ukraine, failed in Syria, and failed to lead the Democratic party. He was a good man who's legacy is modest. Now we need a fighter.
How convenient. Let's blame the black guy and forget the resistance to any moves he might have made. The same kind of bullshit that has us in this nightmare, good old American bigotry.
Obama inherited a terrible situation economic situation he had to take of. We all agree on that. I guess there is only so much a president can do in a certain amount of time.
THIS is not helpful right now. THIS is not meeting the moment we've come to expect from this enterprise. Every single word right now needs to be fighting for a no on the CR and educating your followers on how to contact their representatives. Read the (gesturing at air) room.
This "war" was started in 2014 by Putin.
The peace plan is for Russia to get the hell out of the country.
All the "bullet" points between the start and now will be the job for the history books.
Let's start with the fact that Putin is a bully, thug, and mass murderer!
Wrong! Republicans admitted that they intentionally blocked everything Obama tried to accomplish, even if they normally would have been for it. He still got a lot accomplished, including getting Osama Bin Laden!
So I guess with the weight of Iraq, Afghanistan and a fractured middle east made it OK to have become militarily involved against Russia. Obama would have been a hero. Watch how you throw the word "coward" so easily. That is a trump word. We all wish we had done more. That is good human nature.

Nada!
But Ukraine has held where it has held BECAUSE of Biden.
Was it necessary to attack Ukraine because a elected president was removed?
There are many like UK journalist Peter Hitchins who continue to insist it was a coup organised by the US.
This wasn't helped by Victoria ["fuck the EU"] Nuland appearing in Kviv during Maidan.
😼 We al read, we have our views.

Rham was probably the original problem.
Check that.
I expected this trumpy.
I wanted more of Barack.

Failed to walk the walk.
Obama getting 8 more years as a senator learning foreign policy from a John McCain presidency wouldn't have been such a terrible alternate timeline.
....Obama's March 2014 sanctions were by executive order
the House and Senate acted months later
