These ”none of this should’ve been a surprise and none of this is new” takes are getting a bit tired.
Yes, everyone in Europe expected Trump to be difficult and the US to withdraw from Europe in the mid- to long term. But I think it’s fair not to have expected the US to wholly turn against us.

Right?
RIGHT?
The mistake many analysts keep making is to assume there is some hidden strategy behind his actions, even though history repeatedly proves there's not.
Scrap that and everything makes sense.
This wasn't an obscure possibility, it was MOST likely given all that was known.
The other posibillities were LEAST likely, but obvs the most psychologically comforting, thus chosen

Why wouldn’t he turn on the rest of the world?
And that current dufus in the White House thinks EU was created to screw US. And he thinks Putin is great man. And people laughed at him at his 1st term so I guess he wants to revenge all that to Europe.

They just have a different strategy that we don't like, and they have the means to force it through -- or not. We'll see.
European unity is a problem for them because it makes it more difficult to divide and rule.
So they haven't turned against us. They are disregarding us.
I’m a US/EU citizen. I sold my stocks in December and transferred the money out of USD. Going to move back to EU. I won’t pay taxes to dictators.
If someone really didn't extrapolate from that what was to come at least to some level of detail, they weren't really paying attention.
But that's OK.
P2025 was a good blueprint of what the Trump admin wants/wanted to do.
However, they have now diverged from the plans.
On Ukraine (see p.182) they attempted to follow the third alternative, in vain.
The Europe parts and UK seem to have been completely messed up now.
I would not be surprised if USA de facto ends up invading Mexico with uninvited boots on the ground.
What is scary to me now is that the thought out plans they had are being brushed aside.
One can see this happening in real-time with the love for Russia.
The old adage of "the dildo of consequences" certainly applies here.
