It’s too late now. Many people are STILL operating on the old ways. It takes time to organize a union. All of these disasters are on hyper speed. Trump tanked our economy in less than 90 days. Do you think he’s done, yet?
Specifically find a Union that works in your sector and reach out to talk to an organizer. The next step is to connect a co-worker you trust with the organizer.
I live in a so-called "right to work" or at-will state. Since the NLRB is virtually dead (not an accident), is there any mechanism to get something started in an anti-labor environment that won't trigger damaging reprisals?
Even if you don’t have time to get NLRB-certified, just having an organized group of workers who agree to stand together and act as one can be very helpful when bad things go down. Various links in here:
It is not recommended by organizers, but practically speaking it's more "a thing the company can search and could potentially make a beef about down the road." In the short term you can use it quietly if it works, just be conscious of the risks.
I keep repeating this; we can't even get people to delete their fb, Instagram, threads, Amazon prime, Twitter. Using those services is literally funding our oppressors. Nothing we do matters as long as we continue adding to their wealth. They know this & it's why they have zero fear of us.
