One aspect of doing a political purge of the military and civil service is you can't come back in afterwards and just revert to status quo ante policies. A counter-purge becomes a necessity before you can then restore usual norms and protections. The people he's installing can't be left in place.

Non-binary pride Warhammer40k minis, but in video format this time. #warhammercommunity #warhammer40k

I honestly hope that if people hear this coming from me then maybe it will sink in you DO NOT need to get arrested. We live in a surveillance state, an arrest now does not carry the same consequences as arrests in ‘68. The state is violent & will escalate on you. You should avoid arrest if possible

Arrests have a cost yall: - time in jail - bail - dealing with lawyers / courts - no contact orders - employment - travel restrictions Civil disobedience with the intention of provoking arrest has a time and a place. It's best done as part of a widespread, dedicated campaign supported by normies.

This is key to understanding the building outrage & backlash that extends way beyond the hurt of those fired. Firing people for no reason is brutal & loathsome but the even larger overall offense is wiping out all the fired people’s jobs with them, all the purposes & needs & value those jobs serve.

This is very, very bad. Am working on a write-up, but let’s just say that firing military leaders for blatantly political reasons is wildly inappropriate; firing all the too lawyers is ominous; firing them all at the same time is a terrifying five-alarm fire

Sometimes I forget that our own military has long been obsessed with Nazi Germany. That's a good thing if the leader tries to do all the exact same Hitler stuff. They're actually vaccinated against it.

Breaking: Secretary of Defense removed Adm. Lisa Franchetti as chief of naval operations. Story to come for USNI News.

FOLLOWUP: SECDEF Hegseth also firing the CNO, the USAF Vice-Chief, and somewhat unusually and ominously to do in the same breath, the senior JAGs of the Army, Navy, and USAF

It’s been a long fucking day, I’m tired, and I misspoke. Let me rephrase it in a more correct way. Fuck Hakeem Jeffries and almost every other elected Democratic official for forcing me to be the one to get arrested instead of them doing their goddamn job and being leaders.

Example 4,210 of why no one who cares about our democracy should be giving any sort of quote or story to the NYTimes

developmentally disabled people will no longer be able to see manatees, thanks to Republicans

@hurricanexyz.bsky.social @andycraig.bsky.social @connorlynch.bsky.social Uh, is this a potential thing?

Oh fuck, what a grift. J6 terrorists sue a DOJ controlled by Trump; Trump orders DOJ lawyers to settle for an undisclosed amount, both sides agree to an NDA. This can happen dozens, hundreds of times. Just an ingenious way to funnel tax dollars to far-right terrorist groups.

I think a big problem news orgs have with describing Nazi salutes is that it puts two conventions in conflict one: Nazis are Bad this is basically the only thing news orgs are allowed to describe as unequivocally Bad two: you are not allowed to describe either side as Good or Bad, just conflicted

"it is a party's job to earn your vote" rather than "participating in the government of a republic is a citizen's duty" is just decadence.

He’ll try to run and states will try to stop him and if SCOTUS follows its own precedent from the boneheaded Trump v Anderson, states won’t be able to keep him off the ballot.

CSPAN Caller from West Virginia: I’m a diabetic and I’m on Medicare. When Biden was in there, my insulin was $6 for a 28 day supply. I just went to CVS, it went back up to $80…

How it started. How it’s going
