Yes, this is one of about 12 prehistoric animal models, prototypes of life-sized versions, only 1 of which (mammoth) was made. Plan got shelved because the person behind it died in c 1908. I think the models recently went on show.

They are the original models - but there's also a replica of the mammoth that you can touch. There's a paragraph of text about them, but we didn't see anything more.
