Probably dating back to the 16th century, only the arch of Oxygrains Bridge which carried the old pack horse track remains. Cloth was transported between Lancashire and Yorkshire. Single arched bridge, arch comprising 12 stones on each side of keystone. No parapet wall

Pettiest reason I broke up w/ someone; we were in his backyard and he immediately noticed a shoe print in the dark. Said, "... somebody's been here." Then he reached down and touched the shoe print and said, "It's still warm." and then looked out into the night like Batman.

Did not get up early, checked my phone and found out there had been a huge fire, had to scoot into the museum double quick as a tradie had arrived early. It's going to be a challenging one. Should have opened the wine last night.

Every time you see someone express awe at the capabilities of so-called AI, remember that the most popular show in America was The Big Bang Theory for like six years running.

If your writing didn’t matter, they wouldn’t be going after our books and our stories and desperately trying to rewrite them and/or destroy them. Language is power.

Extremely entertaining extracts from the diaries of former chief whip Simon Hart in The Times today. Kemi, Suella and myriad others come off about as well as you’d imagine. www.thetimes.com/article/e25f...

Tonight I'm writing about the cumulative value of learning over a lifetime and it's all getting a bit existential as I consider how physical and social encounters change our feelings and belief systems. There is wine in the kitchen but the wine is for Friday. The wine may change my feelings tonight.

this verse of Billy Joel's "Always a Woman to Me" always confused me

Apple's AI, which I did not ask for, has summarised my husband's text about going to the barber, then getting a cup of coffee before going to run training session as follows.

Got up early, wrote a bunch of very clever sounding things about episodic and semantic memory, fed worms to all my ridiculous wet pets, off to go and make museum happen. It's going to be a good day. ❤️
