This is just as bad as the Manfred Man in extra innings because it changes the nature of baseball. The pitch clock didn't change the nature of baseball. It merely sped up what everybody already knew was going to happen.

He's not a position player though. All I'm saying is I'd rather have a DH than watch a pitcher drunkenly swing at a baseball. Some changes I think are good for the modern game.

Not a fan of the extra innings rule for instance, but I also understand why they changed it.

I don’t know. It would seriously affect the pitching rotation if you had to also consider their ability to get on base. This guy had a .172 lifetime batting average. Still fun to watch him bat.

I feel bad for the makers of Strat-O-Matic. They can barely make their game function in a Windows environment (with 29 years since Win 95 came out) and their internet game function is full of bugs (similar time frame with the internet) and now Manfred is making even more work for them.

There's a balance between innovation and destroying the game's integrity. In the early '20s, purists lamented the end of the deadball era and blamed Ruth for hitting too many HRs, which seems hilarious today. I put the pitch clock up there as a GOOD innovation. But this is, to put it bluntly, dumb.
