NBA ratings aren't down because of three-point attempts.
The real problem is the next generation of players who have yet to do enough to seize attention in an NBA build on superstardom.

Somehow Jayson Tatum, on a big name team and defending the championship, doesn’t get more ink.
Those guys in the pic are the best players on teams on pace to win 70 games this season.
If fans can’t see the games, ratings and interest drops. Seems like a simple thing to understand, yet the people running these leagues do nothing.

Why are NBA ratings down?
[body content] The real issue, the one proven by customer behavior,
subscription fatigue.

Zero defense.
N.B.A has turned into street ball trash.
But, they also can't play defense anymore. You try to block a 3. It's a foul. And all the LeBron flopping is just annoying
The game needs the excitement that it once had
Newer gen can’t make a splash until media actually cover them.
And then there’s the fighting and drama- worse than old school daytime tv. It’s tired
I'd argue the NBA is the best at promoting their superstars (seems like every teams got one), with the eception of the NFL and their QBs. But compared to baseball where there's like 2 players casuals know about.
👎 @ Sinclair Broadcasting and profiteering contracts that punish fans, and specifically local ones.
Shooting three’s and dunking is really not a skill set. You can get a dozen playground dudes who can do the same thing
3 point contests (often seeing 5 missed 3s in a row)
Forced need to buy NBA league pass to watch games
Biggest issues imo
Journalists & media gotta talk more about the now and the future instead of always looking back and comparing.
