Gahhh, I'm in local organization that is split 50/50 politically. I have noticed that modern conservatives use the "us vs them" language more often. And I get so frustrated - when you point out the inconsistencies, they'd rather sound hateful than be "wrong." Like, get some nuance in your life!

In my (albeit limited) experience, that's not how prophecy works. It's not an escape room. You don't have to find the correct series of clues to get a prophecy to happen. It just...happens, whether you like it or not. If it doesn't, it wasn't a prophecy. It was just a lie.

It is a misunderstanding, but unlike some prophesies this one is *very* detailed and not in "The Bible says it'll be on March 12th" way. There's very specific mentions of Israel's divine right to land and the number of people, etc. It's why they want Israel to exist in the exact ancient place.

Many Christian theologians have claimed that Earth will become hell/is hell currently and are fully serious. At the very least Revelations says Earth will serve as a holding for torture for a millenia.
