An event I always used to enjoy, and this year I finally went again to the matinee, with the nipper with me this time. Takes you out of yourself. Inspired by the story of Hugh Herr and others.

One thing I like about it is the connectingness of it. A small film festival, curated in a small Canadian village, then travels around the world, telling tales of human endurance and achievement all taking place in different terrains.
Today we went straight from the Solidarity for Ukraine rally to the theatre. The film Of A Lifetime has a French family visit the Ukrainian Vernadsky station in the Antartic (while skiing down the almost vertical sides of various icebergs, naturally) and that was interesting and moving.
