The ‘referees call’ stuff is just a facilitated copout by PGMOL. No one in the VAR team really knows when they should or shouldn’t advise referees to review decisions, and when VAR is expected to be decisive they spend far too long pondering over the validity of their intervention.

Much like the Bruno Fernandes/James Maddison one earlier in the season, a red card that is upheld by VAR then overturned by panel makes a mockery of the system. All the more reason to abolish VAR.

It’s run like a union. It’s appears to have its prime mission of protecting the referees- not improving them.
The lack of transparency only adds to this feeling.
VAR could and should be used to overturn very obvious errors. That it isn’t even doing that shows its flaws.
Two humans seeing things differently doesn't ALWAYS mean the second viewer is correct.
