I think that Thiel and Musk know the reality of things and Musk's posts are for optics and to fool his supporters.

Then again, he's so drugged up so often I can't be too sure that all of his posts are disingenuous.

A big part of this is his young coders are not familiar with COBOL, which is a old computer programming language. The version a lot of the government uses is COBOL-85 with some updates to make aspects object oriented. Basically, it's too old school for them to understand.

Dating myself here: but I learned Basic (like the great grandfather of Python) and COBOL in a computer coding summer camp in the 1980s.
