seeing the lore dive into mortuary cultural practices and cheering and then seeing the metis inspo and cheering even louder. This is SOOO SOSOSOSO unbelievably cool and its pushing all kinds of buttons for someone who studied anthropology of death and dying for awhile

I love that verrot is descended from not one but TWO death-centric native x medieval cultures, death anthropology and history is one of my favorite things to study and there’s so many ways to apply it in fantasy! (I take a very métis approach to ishgard, tbh, verrot’s fiddling is métis inspired!)

DEATH ANTHROPOLOGY IS LITERALLY THE COOLEST, and it was the driving force for me to make comics about anthropology!! Also Im now adding Métis Ishagrd into my own lore because WOW YEAH I can definitely see how well it would make sense! (Also with Minos being in Ishgard itd be a nice addition!)

like how are you going to slight these people when they're the richest folks in ishgard and and they're harbingers of misfortune. verrot bears the burden of being the most maligned man in ishgard but he is also the most feared and something, something, machiavelli quote here, etc.
