He has very mainstream Hollywood taste in movies and I don’t think he has any idea that Nicole Kidman was once a BMX Bandit (or were those the bad guys). Expecting that to be pretty funny
NOISES OFF! is from a play about staging a play, and as a film not happening live it can’t be the same, but it’s funny and gradually became a staple around here
This I also doubt he’s heard of, Hollywood but not a hit is not enough haha
Noises Off is probably the closest stage to film adaption that’s been done. Just performed the show a few months ago and revisited the film after the show. Almost verbatim script wise.
Orson Welles desperately wanted to do THE DRESSER, you know, as a film. He wanted to do it with Caine in the Courtenay role, because he thought Caine would've BLOWN the hinges off on the part.
And with somebody like Ralph Richardson in the part that eventually went to Albert Finney!
The friend had both never heard of NOISES OFF! and almost cramped something laughing, great time. But I’m not going to get too cocky about BMX BANDITS
BMX BANDITS is a 1983 Australian family film about three bike-lovin’ kids who steal a bunch of walkie talkies from (unbeknownst to them) a pack of bank robbers, sell them to buy cool gear, then get chased on their new bikes a lot by the bank robbers. It’s colorful and easy to take and a snooze
Any Ozploitation completist would see it for the credits alone (from the director of TURKEY SHOOT!), but that it’s Nicole Kidman’s first or second movie is also a point of interest. The story goes for laughs, but the obviousness of her biking double provide the biggest

Plus Christopher Reeve is also in both, and DEATHTRAP has some of his best work onscreen

(Well, Nicolette Sheridan is probably semi-recognizable)
