I like this idea! Only concern I'd have is making sure there's no spillover from headphones to microphone. I've had that problem in the past.

I was worried about that too but, I used an earbud with the volume at it's lowest and my normal headphones I use for recording on top.

I also did a recording of the booth with the music playing to make sure the mic wasn't picking it up or anything.

i havent heard of that before, but honestly i dont hate the idea. ive heard of people who listen to playlists that are made for the character before hand and i listen to a playlist made by the creator of one of the characters i play for an audio drama on my spare time. its a *sound* idea.

i’ll listen to music before recording but i’ve never tried to record while listening to music! i’ll give it a shot but i’m worried i’ll get distracted by lyrics and flub my lines 🥲

I can admit there were a few dance sessions nestled in between! For me though music helps me focus and get through tasks though. I also didn't have it very loud so it was more like background ambience and not a mini-concert lol

Oh yeah I’ve def done that before! When an immediate idea hits for a character I just go for it and COMMIT lol

Or I look up clips from tv/film/etc for characters with similar energy to help figure out how to add physicality when reading the sides

Yes exactly!! It just helped me embody the character and feel the scene and environment more. The high stakes or chill party girl vibe. I liked it! lol

This just might become my go to!
