AND...passing along older equipment is strategic. We then build new. I don't like war. I don't like war economies. But as long as we have enemies (and that now seems to be the actual plan), we will need defense.
No one talks about how expensive warehousing or demiliterizing that old equipment would have been. You can pay bomb techs six figures to make a missle safe, or the Ukrainians can make it safe into a Russian position for free.
In our defense, a lot of the equipment we “sent” was actually equipment we already gave to other countries. Those countries gave that equipment to Ukraine with the promise we would replace it with newer tech.
What is usually missing in the message is the fact that billions in cash went into the US economy to pay manufacturing workers that build military equipment and weapons.
I made $42 hr working military contracts in the US.
And we didn't "send it" we sent Funding, which was mostly used by Ukraine to purchase military equipment from American manufacturers.
Most of the money we sent Ukraine came back to America
Yup. Held back equipment, then held back offensive equipment & wouldn't let Ukraine attack in Russia - Ukraine could have won that war escept for Biden.
President Obama didn't have any experience with foreign policy. His decision to Not help Ukraine in '14 is why Putin came back for more in '22.
President Biden came in with decades of foreign policy experience. Yet, his pull out in Afghanistan, and holding up weaponry to Ukraine failed too.
Not absolving Biden from all blame, nor UK either. Our Foreign Sec famously on holiday where "the beach was closed" when should've been in UK dealing with it. However, Trump claims all the fault was Biden's. Bit like his "whoever signed the MxCanUS trade deal was an idiot". It was a guy called Trump
The world is moving forward without the United States of America and we, the citizens of this former great nation, are paying the price for the MORON in the White House!

If you guys need to go to war internally, we'll support you, but right now, we can't trust your government.
