I grew up in rural WI and know how much pride farmers there have in helping feed people around the world.

I also served as a US intel officer and saw how food insecurity drives conflict and extremism.

Sadly, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel doesn't have a lot of reach into rural Wisconsin. There's real animus against Milwaukee, stoked by the Wisconsin GOP.

I wonder how much local newspaper coverage matters. In a poll conducted just before the 2024 election, voters who regularly accessed any newspaper broke for Harris by 60%.

I think most Americans are getting 100% of their information intake from television and right-wing social media algorithms.
