One other brilliant aspect of Judge Ho appointing Scalia clerk Paul Clement as his amicus: It'll make it FAR HARDER for Emil Bove to conduct his "weaponization" witchunt targeting (among others) Scalia clerk Danielle Sassoon.

When morality looks upon those that are entrusted to uphold the law, then.. when they only serve up the immoral and illegality, the humiliation becomes a spectacle to behold.
That seems optimistic. They turned on Liz Cheney 4 years ago for the sin of not liking to be at the sharp end of an insurrection, and that's it. She is Republican royalty and they turned on her like Frankenstein's Monster. If Sassoon won't give them what they want, they'll turn on her too.
I doubt this moves many actual voters. But running an actual functional regime if you can't count on Fedsoc'ers who clerked for Scalia is rather challenging.
Educated Republicans tend to be less Trumpy and they can make more in private practice than government work. But you need them if you are going to have anyone actually who can competently control the levers of power.
Weirdly an organization focused on mentoring and helping the career development of law students (nearly 10% of *all* law students in the US are FedSoc'ers!) tends to have a better bench of legal talent?
That is a valid and smart point, IF I thought the goal of Trump/Musk was to have an efficient and competent government. Trump wants people to just do what he tells them instantly and without talk back, regardless of whether this is a good idea or not. That doesn't breed organizational competence.
That, unfortunately, I have no argument with.
I mean, I don't LIKE it. But, you're not wrong. My only hope is enough gets left behind to drag the nation back up in a generation to some semblance of operation.
Or, zombies. I know, played out, but I could see it come back.
Among many other things this administration has not read is the material on how to implement an authoritarian regime (which includes such brilliant insights as don't insult the military).
Will it? I wish I were sure, but it starts to wear on me that selecting a hard right judge/attorney is seen as an optimistic thing as if left-leaning versions are somehow inferior.
I know that is not what you meant. But it happens a lot these days. 🙂

Thank you for your analysis on this.
The thing is that the FedSocs tend to be much better at the law than the Heritage hacks.
