Government shut down is our only leverage. We have to do it or we’re stuck. If DOGE is dissolved and Musk is removed and debriefed as to everything they dismantled and how, we’ll open the government again.

Would DOGE employees be furloughed or considered essential. I can’t imagine it’s the latter. If they are considered essential or not government employees wouldn’t that be greater evidence in the DOGE court cases.

In my mind the CR w/ preventing a vote on dt's declaration allowing him to use the tariffs or Congress reclaiming that power is the key problem w/ suits because dt will claim that was Congressional approval post election & ratified his decisions as authorized by Congress

Why would the cases halt? DOJ lawyers or DOGE employees being deemed non-essential and furloughed? We know DOGE isn’t going to stop working even if that is the case.

Allowing the CR to pass is just going to make it that much harder to fight DOGE in the future. If Dems do this just to save face…

dems need not to vote for this bill. this bill takes away billion dollars from DC tax payers this money was already approved allocated from last bill. this would seriously affect schools. police and everyday services in DC. shut down the gov until they give our money back

Dems don’t care a bit about DC and have proved that for decades. Even though DC Statehood would have been a massive win for them. They rarely discuss outside of election season. So I have zero belief that the right of DC citizens (non constituents) are part of their calculus,

Based on my own experience working for the USG through numerous shutdowns from 2007-2025, the litigation should continue as essential activity. Offensive or discretionary civil litigation pursued by the USG might be paused, but DEFENSIVE litigation with schedules established by courts should go on
