I don't think Erdogan wants a very powerful Russia, they just want to have more power in the region without the baggage NATO comes with

Take Syria - while their main motivation is killing Kurds - they also didn't mind denying Russia Navy bases in the Mediterranean

Agree. People appear to be forgetting how well positioned Erdogan is now that Ukraine chased RU out of the Black Sea (and, frankly, how it raises the stakes on the Baltics).

I don't think Russia will fare good in the Baltic Sea either. Not only does the Baltics have good defenses, but also Finland, Sweden, Poland, Denmark and Germany have naval capabilities supported by land forces there + NATO forces within the Baltics
