This really hit me hard…trying to stick to my “kindness doesn’t cost anything” mantra. But I’m not sure how in such a greedy, money-worshipping country. I’m a Christian in a country that worships the almighty dollar.
I'll tell you, I was shocked at the vitriol aimed at people in E. Palestine by Dem voters who said they got what they deserved for voting for Trump. And by the vitriol aimed at people in LA by GOP voters who said they got what they deserved for living in a "blue" state. It's really sad, all of it.
True… I think all the disinformation coming out at the time was very politically motivated & cause so much confusion as to who was the aggressor & all the finger pointing was a distraction. Trump used the conflict & the fire to his advantage. IMHO
Right. But, Harris didn't go to E. Palestine. It took Biden a year to bother. No matter which way you slice it, that's bad optics. And it's cruel. Trump's noise about LA was horrifying. And red & blue voters said mean things about both events because of perceived political views in the affected area
See, I consider myself a centrist. But I know that your average KKKonservative would call me a libtard, commie, or radical leftist, because I also happen to think that poor people don't deserve to starve.
It’s not about you being “far left”. Most of the GOP are now Far Right (Fascist), with the rest being anti-democratic ultra-conservatives. Look at the voting records of Cheney & Kinsinger. Other than being anti-Trump, their records are awful.
We're not that far. Just reasonable. E.g. Anyone who thinks income inequality is a "far left" issue is currently enjoying the benefits of income inequality.
Being Conservative doesn't have to entail not being decent to people either. People get stuck in their ways, and some things may seem disagreeable to them. That doesn't mean the 1st response should be (or even is), "pack them off to an internment camp."
