The president of El Salvador tweeted a sly joke about his part in a cross-border conspiracy to enable a US president to defy a US court order. Incredible to imagine the MAGA storm if Zelenskyy had done such a thing.

So it has happened, the era of fascism in 🇺🇸
👇
Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition….
The prison they were sent to is awful, per CNN.
“…inmates locked up in crowded cells, with some holding 80 people or so. They slept in metal bunks with no mattresses, sheets or pillows. They had an open toilet, a cement basin and plastic bucket for washing, and a large jug for drinking water.”
They are slowly "boiling the frog." This is likely the first in a series of events where they openly defy court orders. Few will come to the defense of Venezuelan gang members, but this will set a dangerous precedent. Soon, defying the courts will become a daily occurrence, normalized over time.
Americans never seem to understand how their government is assisted by right wing governments. It’s happened in the past, and now it’s just out of control.
You should come back to Canada, David. You fit better here.
Do you mean that a 34 times convicted felon, who should not even have a basic security clearance, is once again breaking the law? It is surreal to imagine this man as someone who can "...preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." He is a criminal.
There’s 3 separate cases where the government is violating court orders. The question now is whether judges find willfulness and hold officials in contempt.
Sam Harris discussed this likelihood on his most recent podcast the The Dispatch's Jonah Goldberg. Question is if Trump will ever hit a third rail that sparks and shocks him instead of fizzling.
Among the many questions: sooner or later, El Salvador will present the United States with a bill for its costs for holding US deportees in defiance of US court orders. Will the Republican Congress pay El Salvador to help Trump break the law?
It had to come sooner or later. Courts act to limit Donald's power, so they were going to be attacked, just as so much else which limits has been, and we see all the puppets installed to run FBI, DOJ, etc.
Why is it a shock to anyone? Everything he has done has been obvious to anyone with a brain and a smidge of paranoia. Meanwhile the opposition is divided and silent basically. Can someone explain to me WHY?
That’s what happens when an AG defies the law to allow violation of Hatch Act, Emoluments Clause, Obstruction cited by Mueller and then goes on to botch up espionage and sedition charges.
A Democrat administration let him
know he was above the law, as did SCOTUS.
Trump picked a fact situation that will not get the general public riled up about. That is my concern. We will have a drip drip of constitutional crisis

B) I would hope they spend their time on the domestic enemies.

FAR FROM OVER - TBC
PLUS he defied a lower court order.
126 lawsuits and only two completely adjudicated, one win at SCOTUS and one throw in the towel by Dellinger.
