Yuzu is a citrus fruit with a marvelously bright perfume. Yuzu baths are traditional on winter solstice in Japan. Capybaras love yuzu baths. Happy Toji (winter solstice), yuzu, and capybaras. [Photo via Shaboten Zoo]

i've been wondering since i got my yuzu-coloured shoes 3 years ago, which have a colour scheme that doesn't really clarify anything about what yuzu might be or even what colour it is.
How did they find this out? Did they kidnap a Capy from South America, transport it to Japan, and chuck it in?
This is seems a lot of work to prove someone's theory.
I was wondering the same. they are from oposite sides of the world.
Though, citrics are cultivated un capibaras hábitat. Not yuzu to my knowloge but maibe it has another name
Capybaras are a pretty common zoo animal, and they naturally spend a lot of time in water. Japan has a lot of thermal baths, so not surprising that somebody decided to try them together.
we did a 柚子湯 yuzu hot spring bath and dang it made my skin burn! maybe my skin is too Celtic but my hubby pointed out “this is basically what i use to degrease the chains on my bicycle (citra-solv) so it’s not that surprising…”
