AITA? At jr high solo and ensemble today, one of the adjudicators, who happened to be a violist, was coaching a cellist. They were going to play together and she was like "I don't read tenor clef, so I'll do my best."
How are you a music educator--esp. a violist--and you can't read tenor clef?

To be fair, like Grade 3 string orchestra repertoire doesn't go into tenor clef, but still... cello and bass solo stuff does all the time.
Clef switching hatred comes from playing flute first. There is no piccolo clef, so you just read 8,000,000,000 ledger lines & deal with it!
I also know flutists (unlike violinists for example) don't like reading with the 8va symbol. Is that also true of other treble woodwind players?
I honestly don't recall--I'd have to dig them out again. I remember being surprised at how well the G-major one sat on the bass.
Is it just the bass/theory snob in me? I understand struggling with like mezzo-soprano clef (unless you're a choir person maybe) but, uh, come on, folks.
