I think LLMs are training our brains to search in more nuanced ways that traditional search doesn't answer, so in turn we use LLMs more often. It's a cycle.
At least, that's what is happening with me. I rarely Google anything anymore.

So long as you are happy, you will continue to use.
And, due to the nature of the responses - you are more likely to "like" Gen-AI results (even if they are less accurate etc.).
Throw in the lower friction (less effort),
and it's a win.
It's a type of positive reinforcement - psych/chemical.
Because the info is given to you,
and in a more natural way,
you will react more positively to it,
and build a preference.

They developed most of the base tech/code to do the LLM stuff.
I just don't think they were prepared,
