I'm a big fan of Barcelona's "superblocks", designed in part to reduce traffic and create spaces for humans rather than cars to interact. This intersection was traffic clogged a few years ago. Our cities can be better places to live.

I’m also a fan but we really need the GUB to actually enforce the regulations. The 10km speed limit, obligatory turns, loading/unloading hours etc are being completely ignored most of the time.
Leeuwarden 2022, a project to promote more green and trees in the city. They moved more than 1500 trees trough the city to show the benefits. The city is working on it now.
That's Parlament and Borrell intersection. This is the first stage of the "superilla" plan. The next step is to unify the level of the street and the sidewalk, eliminating the boundary and making the street walkable. This has been done in Consell de Cent and the result is fantastic.
That city was designed to avoid carriage accidents by having intersection corners cut back. Gotta love that. The “newer” historic parts were also built more than a flying cannonball’s distance from the old center. Love that too.
