Every effort LWJ makes to win WWX over just makes him more suspicious. Expensive gifts and invitations to lavish dinners. He even offers to finance a way too over the top birthday party for A-Yuan.
He knows better than to let history repeat itself with him.
And he didn’t understand then, but he can see it now, looking back, how dependent they were on JFM by then. WWX knows that he was the reason—or part of it, anyway—why WCZ stayed with that shitty man.
