Reverb and echo are the life blood for an incredibly dynamic song that just builds upon itself. Love when a song drenched in reverb, echo, and loops crescendos to something magical.
I was told that in the 1950s, Capitol Records had several subterranean chambers built beneath the building which served as literal echo chambers, containing a microphone and speaker which were connected to the control room. At the flick of a switch, they had genuine, natural echoes at their command.
