ReFantazio, probably, though I do wish it ran better. Honorable mention to UFO 50, but as it's technically 50 full games smushed together I'm not sure it counts...
I was really tempted by the DLC from #PokémonScarletandViolet. And epilogue… not. So. Much.
😒 I mean, who designs a mythical Pokémon as a worthless, possessed, cowardly peach responsible in shattering Ogerpon’s life and have the audacity to stay as a decorative until the occasion?
It’s between metaphor and silent hill. I think I will end up voting silent hill just because how it’s got me happy we finally have a good silent hill game.
Its a bit up and down on the quality. The overall story is good, the banter between the party was you walk around is normally decent, same with the meetings at your HQ. However some of the dialogue on team quests or side quests can be poor.
Overall it comes together in a good package. The combat is fantastic and really pulls tougher the whole game. It’s just if the dialogue was as good as older BioWare games it would be a 10/10. Also I have been underwhelmed by so many games this year, so this it by default right now.
See this is part of what's confusing me, because from other takes I've read, the player's toolkit is extensive, but totally wasted, because the opposition are nothing but lumbering damage sponges. (Division 2 had the same issue).
Are you just talking about the toolkit or the enemies too?
I know MP games don't often win GOTY awards but it's Helldivers for me. While it had ups and downs it raised the bar and set a new standard for live service MP games.
Helldivers 2, no contest. It's easily the game I've played the most this year (aside from Destiny 2) and the one that got my buddies back into regular game nights.
From the games i've played, im between Space Marine 2 and Silent Hill 2. But from what i've heard, Metaphor probably takes it. (I haven't played yet but really want to).
Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been my GOTY since I played it a few years ago and it is this year too. I just can't get over how amazing the game is both in quality gameplay and top tier storytelling.
Horizon Zero Dawn is a close second for my GOTY this year.
